History of the Blue Ribbon Cup clash
Hawthorn and St Kilda will be playing for the annual Blue Ribbon Cup in their clash on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks and Saints will meet at Marvel Stadium at 3.20pm on Sunday April 14, in what will be the 20th year the traditional match has been played between the clubs.
The game honours the passing of two Victorian Police Officers, Sergeant Gary Silk and Senior Constable Rodney Miller, who were killed in the line of duty in August 1988.
As a sign of respect to all the Victorian Police officers who have been killed in the line of duty, players and on-field officials will wear blue and white checkered armbands, with the goal umpires to wave specially made Blue Ribbon Foundation flags.
The Golden Ticket will donate $10 from every Blue Ribbon match ticket or dining package sold directly to the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation.
You don’t need to be a Medallion Club member to purchase these tickets from the Golden Ticket.
